For Kaisa Valtakari, design is about creating experiences that connect people with their surroundings. Whether through interiors, textiles, prints or clothing, her work is guided by curiosity, functionality and a love for beautiful details.

With over three decades of experience in fashion and textile design, Kaisa has worked on projects ranging from Olympic team apparel to sportswear, children's clothing and fashion collections. Her creative journey continues to evolve: in 2026 she graduated as an interior designer, adding a new dimension to a lifelong passion for shaping how we live, move and feel in the spaces around us.

Scandinavian clarity meets Mediterranean warmth — in spaces as much as in prints.

Designer

Over 30 years designing clothing — for Olympic teams, the sportswear industry, children, and complete fashion collections. I have also handled sourcing and production oversight at factories across Europe and Asia. Textile and print design has always been part of my practice: a pattern is rhythm, repetition, and surprise.

Traveller & Human

I have lived in Finland, the US, Switzerland, Canada, and Sweden. Now home is Madeira, Portugal — Atlantic light and lush nature inform my work every day.

Three adult children, one grandchild, and Sally — a rescue dog from Madeira. My love of colour runs through my character too: I am humorous, warm, and genuinely considerate of others. Life, like design, needs bold contrasts and a generous heart.
